  • You control document content; we process it to run the service.
  • Account and billing data is used to operate the product.
  • OCR runs on Planet OCR infrastructure.
  • Request a signed DPA at legal@planetocr.com.
01

Purpose

If documents you submit contain personal data, you may need a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).

Self-serve use is covered by our Terms and Privacy Policy. Paid and Enterprise customers can request a signed DPA.

02

Roles

You are the controller of personal data in files you upload.

Planet OCR is the processor for that content: we run OCR, Advisor, and Ask Document on your instructions.

Planet OCR is the controller of account, billing, and security-log data, as described in the Privacy Policy.

03

What a DPA covers

A Planet OCR DPA addresses:

  • Processing documents for OCR, extraction, Advisor, and Ask Document.
  • Returning results through the Dashboard, API, or webhooks you configure.
  • Keeping files and results in History until you delete them.
  • The security measures on the Security page.
  • Stripe as the payment processor (Stripe does not receive document content).
  • Help with deletion requests and security incidents.
04

How to request a signed DPA

Email legal@planetocr.com and copy sales@planetocr.com, with your legal company name, registered address, primary contact, and expected monthly volume.

05

If you already have a DPA

The signed DPA controls if it differs from this page.
