How Planet OCR works — accounts, documents, plans, and billing.
- You own the files you upload.
- Plans, quotas, and wallet balances apply as shown at checkout.
- OCR can misread text — review results before you rely on them.
- Revoke API keys any time in the Dashboard.
Using Planet OCR
These terms cover the Planet OCR website, Advisor, Dashboard, API, Ask Document, and billing. Creating an account or calling the API means you accept them.
If you use Planet OCR for a company, you confirm you are allowed to do so.
The service
Planet OCR runs OCR on PDFs and images, recommends an engine through Advisor, and returns results in the Dashboard and API. Enterprise plans include Ask Document — questions over extracted text.
Plans are Starter, Essential, Professional, Enterprise, and Pay As You Go. Engines, page quotas, API access, and Ask Document follow the plan shown at /pricing and in your account.
We may change or pause features. Preview features can change without notice.
Accounts and API keys
Keep your password and API keys private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
API keys start with ocr_, are shown once, and can be revoked in the Dashboard. Do not put secret keys in public client-side code.
We may suspend access for unpaid invoices, abuse, or a security incident.
Your documents
You own the files you upload. We process them to run OCR, Advisor, and Ask Document, return results, and deliver webhooks you configure.
You must have the right to upload those files.
OCR can misread text. Check outputs before you use them for payments, identity, medical, or legal decisions.
Fair use
Do not:
- Use the service to break the law.
- Probe or attack Planet OCR or other customers.
- Bypass billing, quotas, or sign-in.
- Share or resell access except as your plan allows.
- Upload files you are not allowed to process.
Billing
Paid plans and wallet top-ups are charged through Stripe. Prices appear at checkout, in the Dashboard, or on an Enterprise order.
Subscriptions renew until you cancel in the billing portal. Wallet credits are prepaid.
New jobs are held when quota is used up or the wallet cannot cover the job. We do not silently charge beyond your plan and wallet.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what we collect. Security practices are on the Security page.
Uploads and OCR results stay in History until you delete them, or until the account is closed.
Stopping
You can stop using Planet OCR at any time. To close an account, email privacy@planetocr.com.
We may suspend or close access for non-payment, abuse, or legal risk.
Changes
When these terms change, we update the date at the top of this page.
