What Planet OCR collects, why, and how long it stays.
- Account data is name, email, and a password hash.
- Jobs stay in History until you delete them.
- Payments go through Stripe. We never store full card numbers.
- OCR runs on Planet OCR infrastructure.
Who we are
Planet OCR provides document OCR through the website, Advisor, Dashboard, API, and Ask Document.

What we collect
We collect only what the product needs to run:
- Account: name if you give one, email, and a password hash.
- Documents you upload (PDF, PNG, JPG, or WEBP) and the OCR results we return.
- Job metadata: status, page counts, timestamps, and the model used.
- Advisor and Ask Document conversations.
- API keys (stored hashed; the full key is shown once) and webhook URLs you set.
- Billing: plan, wallet activity, and Stripe customer or subscription references. We do not store full card numbers.
- Sign-in and API use: IP address, approximate location, browser, login attempts, and active sessions.
- Emails you send to us.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Run OCR, Advisor, and Ask Document, and return results in the Dashboard, API, or webhooks.
- Sign you in, issue and revoke API keys, and apply plan quotas and wallet balances.
- Charge paid plans and wallet top-ups through Stripe.
- Spot abuse, such as repeated failed logins.
- Answer support and privacy requests.
Your documents
You control the content of files you submit. Planet OCR processes that content to complete the job you asked for.
OCR runs on Planet OCR infrastructure. Payments are processed by Stripe.
How long we keep it
Uploads, OCR results, and History records stay until you delete the job, or until the account is closed. You can also delete Ask Document chats from History.
Account, billing, and security logs stay while the account is active. Billing records may be kept as needed for accounting.
To close an account, email privacy@planetocr.com.
Access and deletion
Email privacy@planetocr.com to access, correct, or delete account data. We will confirm it is your account.
In the product you can delete OCR jobs and Ask Document chats from History, revoke API keys in the Dashboard, and end sessions from Dashboard → Security.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
